This book was nearly ruined by the fact that I couldn't stop comparing it to one of my favorite Sandra Brown classics, 22 Indigo Place. I'm not sure if I'm the only one to notice the similarities, but there are quite a few of them!

Regardless, I enjoyed reading about Ethan's redemption and Faith's unwavering strength. Both have struggled, and both are looking to right wrongs and start fresh. There are some intense moments where Faith, a member of the town's once prominent family, is belittle by its citizens because of her father's crimes. And equally upsetting were the scenes where Ethan is verbally thrashed by his brothers.

As with any good contemporary romance, love conquers. It will be interesting to see how Ethan's brothers evolve in their upcoming books.
